The Hilltoppers won their fourth straight game by knocking off Fontbonne Hall 6-1 in CHSAA Brooklyn/Queens Class AA softball Thurday at Dyker Beach Park. The win clinches third place for TMLA, which owns wins over leaders Archbishop Molloy and St. Francis Prep.
In the seventh inning, Nicole Hubert and Shannon Minihane hit back-to-back home runs for the second straight game. Minihane clocked a two-run shot and had two hits and three RBIs for Mary Louis (7-5). Hubert, who was 2-for-4 with two RBIs, had a home run. The sophomore also allowed just four hits and struck out six for the win in the circle. Stephanie Barbaro was 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI. Fontbonne is 6-5.
Preston 16, St. Catherine 0: Megan Kelly tossed a one-hitter and had three hits of her own, including a single to go along with five RBIs for Preston (9-0). Madeline Giannini went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and Kitty Lajqi collected two hits and drove in two.
PSAL CLASS A
McKee/Staten Island Tech 19, CSI/McCown 1: Amanda Mondello went 3-for-3 with five RBIs and a run scored and Blayse Halvorsen went 3-for-3 with three RBIs and three runs scored for MSIT (9-3 Staten Island A). Halvorsen gave up one run on four hits and struck out six in four innings. CSI/McCown is 4-8.
Clinton 16, Walton 11: Alondra Soroa went 2-for-4 with three RBIs and a run scored and Erma Villa, Maguette Fofana and Melissa Feliciano all had two RBIs for Clinton (9-4 Bronx A). Governors coach Rich Eaton made 19 pitching changes between Fofana, Kimberly Martinez and Savannah Lopez. Walton is 6-7.
Stuyvesant 6, Beacon 4: Morgan Higgins gave up three earned runs on six hits with eight strikeouts in seven innings for Stuyvesant (11-1 Manhattan A). Marie Frolich had three hits and Higgins and Lauren Sobota each had two. Beacon is 5-7.
PSAL CLASS B
John Adams 10, RFK 9: Angely Guerrero went 2-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored and Racquel Phagoo was 1-for-2 with two RBIs and two runs scored for Adams (11-1 Queens B-II). RFK is 9-4.
Kennedy 16, Columbus 7: Yaribel Genao went 3-for-4 with four RBIs and a run scored and Amely Del Rosario, Kerline Batista and Naomi Rodriguez each had three RBIs apiece for Kennedy (7-5 Bronx B-I). Columbus is 8-5.
Banneker 30, Erasmus Hall 7: Nia Garcia went 3-for-4 with six RBIs and four runs scored and Ashley Mendez went 4-for-5 with four RBIs and four runs scored for Banneker (8-3 Brooklyn B-II). E-Hall is 5-7.
Scholars Academy 35, Springfield Gardens 1: Lauren Hegel went 5-for-5 with seven RBIs and four runs scored and Taylor Gallagher went 3-for-5 with seven RBIs and four runs scored for Scholars (11-2 Queens B-II). Springfield is 2-10.
Far Rockaway 40, Campus Magnet 10: Francheska Ramirez and Jelissa Williams each had seven RBIs for Far Rockaway (4-8 Queens B-II). Campus Magnet is 0-13.Follow @NYPostsports
