WASHINGTON — The Obama campaign is trying to milk every cent out of President Obama’s declaration that he supports gay marriage — even marketing a baby onesie that says: “My two dads support Obama.”
The word “Obama” appears in rainbow lettering, with the famous “O” logo underneath.
“Even the youngest Obama fans can show their support,” the campaign says on its Web site.
The campaign raised a stunning $2 million through online contributions in the 24 hours after Obama announced his support for gay marriage in an ABC interview, CNN reported.
On Monday, singer Ricky Martin hosts another big-bucks fund-raiser for Obama with gay and lesbian supporters in New York, where tickets will range from $5,000 to $38,500 for an event at the Rubin Museum of Art.
