A high-ranking FDNY safety inspector yesterday admitted accepting $50,000 in bribes to help a gang of fraudsters scam the city out of more than $1 million in day-care subsidies.

Carlos Montoya pleaded guilty to pocketing the payoffs in exchange for issuing fake, temporary “certificates of occupancy” for substandard day-care centers that included a Brooklyn warehouse.

Under the terms of his plea deal with Manhattan federal prosecutors, Montoya, 54, agreed to serve up to 37 months in the slammer and forfeit his crooked cash.

The FDNY is also preparing to can Montoya from his $56,734-a-year job, spokesman Jim Long said.

Thirteen other people pleaded guilty earlier, including two center owners.
