Paz out of ‘Empire’

Paz de la Huerta, who played the floozy Lucy Danziger on “Boardwalk Empire,” won’t be coming back next season.

HBO reportedly failed to pick up her contract, and her character is being written out.

That won’t be too hard to do since, in one of the final episodes of last season, Lucy — who’d given birth to federal agent Van Alden’s baby — was seen going out for a formula run, but never returns.

The exotic-looking de la Huerta began on the series as Nucky Thompson’s mistress and — in one of the popular series’ darker plot twists — comes back as Nucky’s archenemy’s girlfriend.

De la Huerta’s antics off screen have been nearly as scandalous as anything she did on the TV show.

Last summer, she pleaded guilty to punching Samantha Swetra, a fashion buyer who appeared on the MTV reality series “The City,” in the nose during a 4 a.m. barroom brawl at a swanky Manhattan hotel.

The cast of “Boardwalk Empire” lost two other major characters by the end of last season: Michael Pitt’s hot-headed Jimmy Darmody and Dabney Coleman’s Commodore Kaestner.

Filming of Season 3 is set to begin shortly.
