This week's couple: College reunion

When we sent Liz, a 23-year-old marketing coordinator, and Ian, a 27-year-old strategy analyst, to East Village pub the Penny Farthing, we didn’t know they share an alma mater. The duo reminisced about their college years at Pace University and found even more common ground. So, was this reunion more than just a college hookup?

He said:

When I first met Liz, I thought she was pretty cute and immediately noticed her eyes.

We kicked the conversation off by talking about where we work and soon realized that we both attended the same college. We also spent time discussing favorite movies, music and hobbies. Liz gave me some great recommendations for movies and music to check out. I found Liz really easy to talk to and I thought the conversation flowed great. I was very intrigued when she told me she used to play guitar. I played piano growing up, so anyone with an appreciation for music is good in my book. Liz smiled a lot, which I like and I felt like we laughed the whole night. At the end of the evening, we exchanged numbers. I would go out with her again, I had a great time.

She said:

I thought Ian was very cute and well-dressed. I could tell he put thought into his look, which is important to me. He came off a bit quiet at first, but once the conversation got rolling we were both laughing and talking a lot.

Our conversation consisted of work history, college and hobbies. He also told me he was an extra once on “Law & Order,” which I thought was cool. But, I wish we had gotten a little further into our personal lives and ambitions — that’s the type of conversation that really intrigues me.

Overall, we had a great time. Ian is smart and has a great sense of humor. I think we might be better suited as friends, but it was great meeting him regardless.
