Mets promote Acosta, send down O'Connor

The Mets have promoted right-handed reliever Manny Acosta from Triple-A Buffalo.

The Mets selected his contract and he was to be available for Friday night’s game against Atlanta.

Acosta was 1-0 with four saves and a 1.77 ERA in 20 games at Buffalo. Last year with the Mets, he was 3-2 with a 2.95 ERA in 41 games.

Left-handed reliever Mike O’Connor was optioned by the Mets to Triple-A after Thursday’s game. The Mets also transferred righty Chris Young to the 60-day disabled list.
