New York is turning into the center of the universe again -- at least for two hit TV shows.

"Glee" will spend its entire second season in the pursuit of a trip to the Big Apple, where the all-important show choir national championships are being held.

The recently revealed 30-second promo for the musically-themed Fox series' season premiere episode shows the Ohio-based glee club decked out in black t-shirts emblazoned with the words "New York City," singing and dancing on school bleachers.

They'll be putting their own spin on the Billboard chart-topping tune "Empire State of Mind," originally sung by famous locals Jay-Z and Alicia Keys.

It's so far unknown whether "Glee" -- filmed in Hollywood -- will take its show on the road to do location shots later in the year, says a series spokesperson.

Meanwhile, foodie blogs are bursting at the seams with rumors that the upcoming eighth season of Bravo's "Top Chef" is currently being shot in the city, with the American Museum of Natural History named as one of the possible filming locations. (It was last filmed in New York during the cooking competition's fifth season in 2008.)

Grubstreet.com tipsters reported nighttime sightings of previous "Top Chef" contestants -- specifically Carla Hall and Spike Mendelsohn -- roaming around the Whole Foods Bowery location, accompanied by a film crew, loading up on ingredients last month.

However, a crew member denied that "Top Chef" was being filmed when approached by an onlooker.

Restaurant blog Eater.com reports that chefs Marcel Vigneron, Richard Blais, Fabio Viviani, Stephen Asprinio, Angelo Sosa, Tiffany Derry, Michael Isabella, Dale Talde, and Tiffani Faison are also set to appear in the show, which will be a full season (not a special).

The number of familiar faces has led to speculation that the next season of "Top Chef" will be an all-star show, giving contestants a second chance to be named the top chef.

A Bravo spokesperson could not confirm the location of the series.
